DMP has set up a dedicated in-house welder training facility to provide improved welding skills and increase capacity to meet growing customer demand.

Headed up by our resident senior welding engineer, the facility provides welder assessment and training from an introductory level for individuals with no prior experience to advanced skills and certification in all significant welding processes to British and International coded standards.
This additional facility works closely with production departments to assess, recruit, and provide the requisite skills, improved performance, and personal development opportunities to maintain a world-class supply of Metal Fabricated Products.

As part of DMP’s ongoing business development programme, we have invested in new equipment to support a pick-up in order board and a diversification of product range.

As part of this programme, DMP has invested close to £1m in new laser cutting capacity by purchasing a Bystronic 10Kw Fibre laser. This earmarks the first step towards a capital equipment replacement programme focused on DMP’s core capabilities.

DMP is pleased to launch its new website, which harnesses the look and feel of the updated brand image whilst giving our clients and potential new clients more insight into what we are about.

DMP has embarked on a business-wide rebranding as part of our 10-year business plan, which aims to see the business double in size while diversifying our traditional offering.

The branding evolves the already established DMP brand while focusing on our core competencies in greater detail.
The new divisional structure, which encompasses Sheet Metal, Fabricated Assemblies, and Engineered Products, provides renewed focus on the business areas that have been the heart of DMP’s success over the past 45 years. It also allows each distinct area to act as its business unit.

As part of the next chapter in DMP’s progression and in line with the business objectives going forward over the next ten years, effective 1 January 2020, William Childs will take over from Len Childs as managing director of DMP after 45 years leading the business.

In addition to reorganising the wider management team and reprioritising key activities, this represents one of the most extensive restructures the business has undergone in the last twenty years and is a testament to the company’s commitment to achieving our long-term objectives.
